Kundli matching is often reduced to a number out of 36. That number is useful context, but it is not the whole relationship. Luna shows all eight Kootas, the score each earned, and the strengths and friction points calculated from both charts.
Use the result to notice patterns, start a better conversation, or explore two charts together. It is deliberately not framed as a command to stay, leave, marry, or avoid someone.
Birth time makes the comparison more specific
The Moon-based Kuta score can be calculated from a date and place, but an exact birth time sharpens the ascendant, houses, and chart-to-chart overlays. Add it whenever you know it. If it is unknown, Luna uses noon and keeps the result clearly scoped.
Luna calculates the comparison directly from both charts with the same Swiss Ephemeris and Lahiri sidereal system used for the rest of the site. No AI is used to create the score or its breakdown.

What is a 36 Guna compatibility score?
It is the total from the eight classical Ashtakoota matching categories used in Vedic kundli matching. It is one part of a broader chart comparison, not a guarantee or verdict.
Do I need both birth times for kundli matching?
Exact times make a more specific comparison because they establish houses and ascendants. If a time is unknown, Luna uses noon and still calculates the Moon-based matching data.
What does this compatibility calculator include?

Can a low Guna score decide a relationship?
